Part 1: The Infusion (Prep Ahead)
This part gives the cocktail its unique infusion and spice element.
- Ingredients:
- 250 ml (or more) of high-quality Vodka.
- 1 Vanilla Bean, split lengthwise.
- 1-2 small, dried Bird’s Eye Chilis or a pinch of Chili Flakes (like Aleppo or Kashmiri chili for color/mild heat).
- Method:
- Combine the vodka, split vanilla bean, and chili in a sealed jar.
- Let it infuse for 1-3 days in a cool, dark place.
- Taste daily! The chili heat can develop quickly. Remove the chilis once the desired spice level is reached, leaving the vanilla bean to continue infusing.
- Strain the final vodka into a clean bottle before use.
Part 2: The Spiced Rim (Optional)
- Combine a pinch of sugar with a smaller pinch of chili powder or ground cinnamon on a small plate.
- Wet half the rim of your chilled martini or coupe glass with a lime wedge.
- Dip the wet half into the spice-sugar mix.
Part 3: The Cocktail
- Chill your Glass: Place the martini/coupe glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink.1
- Combine Ingredients: Add the Vanilla & Chili Vodka, Passion Fruit Liqueur, Passion Fruit Puree, Lime Juice, and Simple Syrup into a cocktail shaker.
- Shake: Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for about 15-20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty.2
- Double Strain: Empty the chilled glass and double strain the mixture into it.3 This removes any ice shards and excess pulp for a smoother texture.4
- Garnish: Place your chosen The Garnish Club dehydrated slice (e.g., a vibrant dehydrated lime or red dragon fruit) directly onto the rim or floating on the drink.
- Serve: Serve immediately with a sidecar (shot glass) of chilled Prosecco or Sparkling Wine.5
