Blood Orange Negroni Recipe
This recipe is based on the traditional Negroni ratio, with the kit components used for aromatic infusion and specialized garnishing.
| Component | Ingredient | Amount |
| Spirit | London Dry Gin | 30 ml (1 oz) |
| Bitter Aperitif | Campari | 30 ml (1 oz) |
| Sweet Vermouth | Sweet Vermouth | 30 ml (1 oz) |
| Infusion | Juniper Berries | 3-4 berries |
| Infusion | Orange Peel | A small strip |
| Sweetener | Light Muscovado Sugar | 1/2 tsp (optional, to taste) |
| Garnish | Blood Orange & Mint Salts | For the glass rim |
| Garnish | Dried Orange/Blood Orange Slices | 1 slice |
Note: Unlike a Cosmopolitan, a Negroni is typically stirred, not shaken, to achieve a silky texture.1
Method
- Prepare the Rim (Optional): Pour a small amount of blood orange & mint salts onto a small plate. Run an orange wedge around the outside of your rocks glass or coupe glass rim. Gently press the outer edge of the rim into the salts to create an aromatic edge.
- Infuse & Stir: Add the gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, juniper berries, orange peel, and optional muscovado sugar into the Garnish Club shaker jar. The sugar is optional as Negronis are typically bitter, but it can balance the infusion and blood orange flavour.
- Chill and Dilute: Add a large amount of ice to the jar. Stir the mixture gently but consistently for about 20–30 seconds. Stirring chills the drink and provides the perfect amount of dilution.
- Serve: Add a large, clear ice cube (or fresh ice) to your prepared glass. Strain the Negroni mixture over the ice.
- Garnish: Garnish with one of the dried orange or dried blood orange slices from the kit.
