Espresso Martini Recipe
This recipe is focused on achieving that signature rich flavour, creamy foam, and aromatic finish, using the kit’s elements for infusion and garnish.
| Component | Ingredient | Amount |
| Spirit | Vodka | 50 ml (1.7 oz) |
| Coffee Liqueur | Kahlúa or similar | 30 ml (1 oz) |
| Coffee | Fresh Espresso (chilled) | 30 ml (1 oz) |
| Sweetener | Muscovado Sugar | 1/2 tsp (optional, to taste) |
| Infusion | Cinnamon Stick (broken) | 1 small piece |
| Garnish | Coffee Beans | 3 beans (for floating) |
| Garnish | Coffee Salts | For the rim (optional) |
Method
- Prepare the Espresso: Brew a fresh shot of espresso and let it cool slightly. Using chilled or cool espresso is crucial for a thick foam.
- Prepare the Glass (Optional Rim): If desired, pour a small amount of coffee salts onto a small plate. Rub a lime wedge or wet your finger around the rim of your chilled martini or coupe glass. Gently press the outer edge of the rim into the salts.
- Infuse & Mix: Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, cooled espresso, muscovado sugar (if using for extra sweetness), and a broken piece of the cinnamon stick into the Garnish Club shaker jar.
- The Hard Shake: Fill the shaker jar completely with ice. Secure the lid tightly and shake very hard and fast for 15-20 seconds. This is the most important step for creating the creamy, signature foam.
- Serve: Double-strain the mixture (using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strainer) into your prepared, chilled glass. This ensures a silky smooth drink and helps catch any cinnamon debris.
- Garnish: The perfect Espresso Martini should have a rich layer of foam on top. Garnish by floating three coffee beans on the center of the foam.
